The State Prosecutor's office explains that the basis for the application of such security measure for a permanent or temporary ban of a profession is a criminal offense. "Even if the offender was found to be of unsound mind and the court rules a security measure of compulsory psychiatric treatment and treatment in a health institution or compulsory medical treatment, the prosecutor may also propose a security measure prohibiting the pursuit of the profession. At the same time, the condition must be that the offender abuses his or her profession and the public prosecutor concludes that it would be dangerous for them to repeat such abuse or a similar one," explained the State Prosecutor's office when the prosecutors demand a ban on the profession.
Seven bans on pursuing a profession
They also added that they do not keep a record in the prosecutor's office, whether the prosecutors have demanded a temporary or permanent ban on pursuing a profession. Over the last five years, they have received convictions for seven criminal offenses, in which a ban on pursuing a profession has also been imposed.
