The presentation of the new jerseys took place at the Luka Koper passenger terminal. The tension kept rising until 19.30h when the new jersey was revealed. The new football jersey has a light blue and white colour combination. There is no green colour on it, but there is another reserve green jersey. The symbol of Mount Triglav remains on the jersey. The jersey also has an organic touch to it, as it's made out of recycled polyester.

Slovenia's players will get to wear the new jersey for the first time on Wednesday, when they face Macedonia in a friendly match at the Bonifika Stadium in Koper. Slovenia's previous jersey had its debut when Slovenia faced Uruguay in a friendly match in June 2014. Slovenia played 16 matches in the previous jersey and scored 19 goals.

Cesar: The times move forward and so do the jerseys
The first impressions of Slovenia's players over the new image are positive. Slovenia's number one goalkeeper Jan Oblak said he likes the new colour combination. "I hope it will help us achieve a lot of success," said the goalkeeper of Atletico Madrid. "The times move forward and so do the jerseys," said team captain Boštjan Cesar.

At the presentation at the Port of Koper, during which the new jerseys were showcased over three big containers, those present also touched on the new national team cycle which will be marked by many absences.

Team captain Cesar stressed that such decisions have to be respected and that special thanks has to be sent out to every player who decides to retire from national competition. Touching on the new members of the national team he added: "They're all quality players. We've only had one practice so far so it's difficult to talk about the state they're in and the kind of players they are. But they will surely need to quickly adapt to our team and me and the other older players are here to help them. I think they'll adapt quickly."

Jan Oblak will have a new role as Slovenia’s number one goalkeeper, but says it is the coach who decides who will be in the goal. In any case he does not feel any additional pressure because of his new role in the team: "It's just one good big thing and I'll be very pleased with every opportunity I get."
