In her programme, Aksinja Kermauner mentioned her vision to bring books and literature closer to people with special needs, an area in which she has been active for over 40 years. She also mentioned demythisation of the writer's profession as a way of returning respect to the writer's status, so that authors can live from what they write. 'If a nation does not have literature, which points out everything, it falls apart,' said Kermauner after being elected.

Kermauner also mentioned the need to promote youth and children's literature, given that, in her opinion, writers of this style of literature bring in readers. If this fails to happen, as adults, they will not take books into their hands.
