We have already written about the accident suffered by the 19 year old dark-haired contestant from Slovenske Konjice. The Slovenian competition representatives reported that immediately after her arrival to Las Vegas she had an accident in her hotel room - she slipped while washing her hair, and she hit her head hard against the bathroom floor. She was immediately taken to a hospital for a check-up and observation. She was admitted to the hospital and spent five days there. She was released on Thursday and instructed to rest for another week. Thus she missed the official photo sessions, and had to withdraw from the contest.
Yet Ana did appear at the Sunday pageant, which was broadcasted live from the Planet Hollywood Resort hotel in Las Vegas, and watched by millions. It came as a surprise to the Slovenian representative for Miss Universe contest Kaly Kolonič. She said for MMC that the American organizers obviously decided in favour of this nice gesture in the last moment. The host of the pageant Steve Harvey announced the Slovenian Miss, who was not able to compete, saying: "She thought she had lost her chance, but she didn't. Let's greet her and congratulate her for fulfilling her dream of walking on the Miss Universe stage. Please welcome Miss Universe Slovenia!"

She came onstage in a bright red evening dress she should have donned for the pageant and presented herself besides the other candidates. Many spectators got to their feet and applauded her. Ana received flowers from last year’s winner, Miss Universe 2014 - Paulina Vega from Columbia. Ana’s appearance was mentioned in most media and was characterized as “the most touching moment”; Ana’s courage and perseverance were praised by viewers on social networks.
