Minister Mramor has prepared the list and submitted it to the government, and it was unanimously adopted. The list must be now confirmed (or rejected) by the Parliament, which should happen next week. The supervisory board of the Slovenia Sovereign Holding will be appointed for a term of five years, with the option of one-time re-election. The Parliament will vote on the proposal as a whole, without the possibility of changes.

Where did the names come from
Mramor explained the process of drawing up the list. At first a commission has been appointed, which has carried out the initial procedure regarding the applications and selection of wider range of candidates. The members of the commission were Peter Kraljič, Danica Purg and Aleksander Nagode, and they have done a very good and professional job, i.e. called for applications and prepared a competent framework for the candidates, Mramor explained.

64 people applied, and 32 complied with the basic conditions. After the commission verified the professional education, knowledge of foreign languages, profile, and other criteria of the remaining half of the candidates, 15 candidates remained. One failed to respond, and the expert commission shortlisted 14 people, the Minister said.

The fourteen candidates were then divided into three different groups by the commission, taking into consideration their competences, a basic one and two supplementary, and forwarded them to Mramor. He made the final decision, choosing two names from the first group, two more from the second group, and one from the third group. The new list was then submitted to the government.

Mramor assures that this method has resulted in incomparably more professional and better experienced candidates than those who had applied in the first, failed attempt. "The base was actually very good," he claims.
