The program began at 5 p.m with a concert by the No Name Blues Band at the Leon Štukelj square. After the symbolic opening of the Golden Fox, the starting numbers draw for Saturday's giant slalom race will begin at 6:15 p.m. That will also be the first opportunity for many fans to greet the two-time world champion from Vail, Tina Maze. The crowd will then be entertained by the Elvis Jackson band.

The weather forecast for eastern Slovenia on Saturday is favourable. The first run of the giant slalom will begin at exactly ten o'clock. The final second run is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Organizers expect around 20.000 spectators. The police advise drivers to start heading to the event area on time and to drive patiently and with extra care.

"We advise those who plan to come to the event to use the public bus service. Together with the Marprom company, the organizers have managed to secure free public transport with bus number 6, (Vzpenjača). An additional number of buses will be driving to the event. Visitors can also park their cars at the parking area of the Maribor Military Academy (Engelsova street), from where there will be free public bus service to the event area and back," is the advice of the police.

On Saturday evening there will be a concert by the Orlek band at the Leon Štukelj square at 5:30 p.m., which will be followed by the announcing of the results of the giant slalom and the starting numbers draw for Sunday's slalom race. The weather forecast for Sunday is not encouraging. Clouds and snowfall are forecast. In the valleys it will mostly rain. The start of the slalom first run is scheduled for 9.45 a.m., while the final is supposed to begin at 12.45 p.m.

A daily ticket for adults costs 10 euros. A two-day ticket costs 15 euros. Tickets for youths older than eight-years-old stand at five euros, while those younger than eight can enjoy the competition free of charge.

Both races will be broadcast live on TV SLO 2, Val 202 and MMC.
