The coalition party Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia (Desus) is against it, since the burden for pensioners would go up several times over. Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia president Karl Erjavec believes an emergency tax that would be valid for a year would be better solution for filling up the budget. The Slovenian Democrats and the Civic List parties are outraged by Erjavec’s opposition to the law that is intended to be in next year’s budget. The complication of the political situation is not a good sign, as the budget measures will be reviewed by the European Union.

Doctor Peter Kraljič said it seems that the real estate tax caused the most complaints. He says even the economy judges the tax is a drop over the edge. Kraljič says we are still not among the countries with high taxes. He is more worried by the fact, that all the important institutions are predicting a decline of BDP, which will influence the budget. Kraljič says, that the piled up problems must be solved in its entirety and all together, while not neglecting competitiveness.
