The campaign wants to make people aware of the importance of preventive action for maintaining a healthy vascular system.

Statistics show a frightening picture of growing numbers of people with vascular disease. Every 6th citizen in Slovenia over the age of 55 reportedly has some kind of vascular problem. Around 1% of the patients, that’s anywhere from 1000 to 2000 people per year, develop a critical condition called ischemia which is a restriction in blood supply to tissues. The best recipe for avoiding vascular disease is to stop smoking, control cholesterol levels, maintain a low salt and low fat diet and reduce stress with exercising.
