The ruling coalition called on the SDS party to drop its plans on calling for a referendum on the Arhives Act.

The biggest opposition party, the SDS, has already collected the needed 40.000 signatures to demand a referendum to open all archives to the public.

The ruling coalition stressed, that if the opposition was to go through with its refererendum plans, the vote would not be held alongside the May European elections. The referendum would then most likely be held together with the local elections in the fall.
