Before beginning his prison sentence, Janša held a press conference during which he presented documents that he claimed were from a Finnish court. Janša said the documents had an important impact on proceedings in Finland but not in the Slovenian trial.

Ferlinc said that the Finnish prosecutors' office reported that the document was cobbled together from three different documents and that the document was not part of the Finnish proceedings.
