On a field on the outskirts of the village of Starše, nearly a hectare of lavender has been planted by Janko Selinšek, a farmer who continues the family tradition of herbalism and livestock breeding.

Lavender has a gentle florid smell, which is greatly influenced by weather conditions and the way it is grown. The plant can be used in numerous ways; the most well-known are etheric oils, but it also serves as protection against moths, a substance in cosmetic products, and an ingredient in food and drinks.
