On the bank of the Kamniška Bistrica, a replica of the shepherd settlement at Velika Planina, only smaller, is almost finished. "The work started last October, and we are almost three months ahead of schedule," Matjaž Zorman is pleased.

All 24 residential huts and a number of other buildings have been erected. And since the settlement will open in September, the construction site is constantly busy.

The charm of shepherds' life
In spite of initial reluctance, the neighbours started showing interest in the new settlement. Presently the surroundings of the huts is being put in order, and more and more attention is being dedicated to the future life within the settlement. "The buildings are mainly intended for rainy days; during nice, sunny weather we expect and wish the guests to stay outside, in nature," the organizers explained.

They will be able to sunbathe along the Bistrica, and above all get to know the shepherds' way of life.
