After the government session PM Miro Cerar explained that following the adoption of the new pay policy, the Ministry of Finance demanded the adjustment of contracts at the Bank Asset Management Company (BAMC), but it never happened. Therefore it was unanimously decided by the government that there were grounds for early termination of office of the president of the BAMC management board Lars Nyberg.

Cerar added that based on the thorough discussion irregularities have been found also regarding the chief executive director Torbjörn Mansson, therefore it was unanimously decided to recall him as a member of the managing board, after which the BAMC executive board should recall him from the position of the executive director. "It is not a political intervention into corporate governance; the government is aware that such interventions must be avoided," Cerar concluded.

The problem however is the fact that the government, as the only competent authority for appointing the management board, has never confirmed Mansson as a member of the management board. Mansson also has not been chosen for the chief executive through a public tender, as prescribed by the law, but he has been appointed by the other non-executive directors, the members of the management board. Thus not only the very management of the BAMC, but Mansson’s dismissal are called into question.

Dismissal proposed by Mramor
Nyberg 's dismissal was proposed to the government, i.e. the BAMC general assembly, by the Minister of Finance Dušan Mramor. Mramor has lost faith in Nyberg because of the misleading information he had received from Nyber, which claimed that the contracts on payments had been brought in full compliance with the new pay policy. On Thursday Nyberg claimed that the payments of the leading personnel have been always in compliance with the existing policies and the valid contracts, and that the Ministry of Finance has been informed of all the payments at all times.

As Mramor explained last Friday, the proposal for dismissal was not based on the level of income, or the quality of work of the BAMC, i.e. the bad bank. It is about "trust between the assembly, i.e. the government for which I (i.e. Mramor) am responsible, must keep it informed, and give proposals to it, and the leaders of the BAMC managing board".
