The Minister for Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Samo Omerzel ordered tighter control not only at the traffic agency, but also at the Traffic Directorate.

Omerzel said it was unacceptable that something like that could have happened and that the traffic agency will need to be reorganized soon.

The police have filed criminal complaints against 26 individuals in October. They are suspected of perpetrating more than 480 crimes ranging from forgery to abuse of office between 2010 and 2012.

They also found out that in at least 1,200 cases driving licences were issued unlawfully.
