Koper and has arrested 4 people.

Investigators suspect that results of soccer matches have been manipulated by some individuals in the period from 2010 up until last month. That was supposedly done by giving large sums of money, in some cases even up to 150,000 euros, to soccer judges and some players from Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Austria and El Salvador at the international football association tournament.

The money was supposed to make sure that players staged a game and judges turned a blind eye in some cases in order to manipulate the outcome of a match. Suspects possibly face a 5 year prison sentence.

The investigators are looking for evidence at houses of 5 suspects aged between 27 and 35. One of them is based abroad, the rest live in Maribor or Koper. Police added that a Slovenian soccer player had received a bribe two times and had played some games accordingly.
