The party has so far not revealed how many signatures have been collected but said they were satisfied with the response of people. They need at least 40,000 signatures to call a referendum. The SDS has campaigned against the closing of the archives of the Yugoslav-era secret service UDBA. The SDS said people had a right to information collected by the UDBA. Opponents say it violates the right to privacy.
