She said it would be better that the SDS and the Ministry of Culture find a compromise to use the money, that would be spent on the referendum, for the digitalization and publishing of the Udba archives (the secret police of former Yugoslavia) on the internet. The SDS needs to collect 40.000 signatures in order to carry out the referendum. The cost of the referendum would amount to 4.5 million Euros. The digitalization of the archives would cost 500.000 Euros Ljudmila Novak explained.
