The popular »Lynx« have already begun training and preparing for the World championship of Division I in South Korea. But the team of Coach Matjaž Kopitar will play their games in Goyang severely weakened. For now many key players still play for their clubs and it’s questionable if they will be able to join the team at the World championship on time.
From the 20-26th of April Slovenia will play against Japan, South Korea, Hungary, Ukraine and Austria. Slovenes may be the favourite to win the tournament, but according to Kopitar a tough job lies before them. But despite the problems the goal stays the same - the return into the elite ice hockey division.
