In the night there might be as much as 50l per square meter of rain. Downpours are possible during the storms. Bernard Strajnar, the on-duty meteorologist, told Radio Slovenia that they are expecting storms and heavy downpours.

The environmental agency warns that particular rivers can quickly rise above the warning values of their currents and flood. This is especially true for the wide areas of west and south Slovenia. Smaller flooding’s are possible in the middle of Slovenia and the area of the Kamniško- Savinjske Alps. The environmental agency also warns that the sea might flood lower laying areas of the coast between 9 and 12 today. There is also a danger of level 4 avalanches in the Julijske Alps.
