The public debate has been completed, but the government has not yet addressed the issue, despite the fact that the solving of problems faced by young people were among Prime Minister Bratušek’s priorities. The implementation of measures aimed at helping young people up to the age of 29 should be a priority as the number of unemployed young is rapidly increasing. At the end of December the number of registered unemployed rose to more than 32 thousand. From that around 500 people were younger than 29. That’s almost 17 percent more than in December 2012.

The financial resources provided to implement the measures of the guarantee program for the young are of great importance to help ease the problem, however the Minister of Labour says that the basic documents for the new financial framework have not yet been adopted and that the government needs more time to do so.
