In 2005, the American activist for human rights Rosa Parks dies. In 1955, on a bus in Alabama she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger. Black people had to sit in the back of the bus. This event marked the beginning of a boycott of public transport and it importantly denotes the struggle for the rights of blacks in the United States.
