The end of WWI marked the end of one of the most absurd tragedies of humanity, which was created primarily by foolish, inept and very narrow-sighted politics. And, according to President Pahor, this tragedy was very great, painful and aching.
Wars, especially world wars, are not the natural state of humanity, said Pahor, adding that it is people who always decide about wars. And hence a belief that permanent peace is possible.

On Sunday, Pahor will attend a world celebration marking the centenary of the end of World War I in Paris. Petra Svoljšak, vice chair of the National Committee for Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of WWI and president of the Milko Kos Historical Institute at ZRC SAZU, also addressed the audience at the ceremony.
