The pair met in the western Slovenian town of Nova Gorica, and visited the Sveta gora hill, marking the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI.

There they layed a wreath at a monument honouring dead Slovenian soldiers and inaugurated the so called ''bench of peace''.

Pahor highlighted that mutual understanding of reconciliation, cooperation and harmony between both nations and with other European nations can bring more peace, freedom and well-being.

The pair expressed optimism for the future European integration and problem-solving.
