The parliament today changed the law on public procurement. The changed law enables a faster and simpler procurement after the last ice storm.

From now in cases of an emergency procurement the contracting authority will be able to conclude the contract immediately, without having to wait for potential complaints. Also the limit for cash transactions has been lowered, from current 15.000 EUR to 5000 EUR. The changes, which will mainly affect small value contracts, are designed to simplify public procurement procedures.
