Due to the New Year holiday pensioners will receive their pensions a day earlier than usual. For about 650 thousand beneficiaries the Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance for pensions and other benefits will pay out 400 million euros.
Nevertheless, for many retirees the New Year will not be too happy - especially in the light of the level of pensions. The average pension in the first nine months of 2013 was namely, 564 euros. The net average pay in the same period was 990 euros.
