The Culture Day marks the anniversary of the death of Slovenia's poet France Prešeren. During tonight's ceremony during which cultural as well as political representatives will be present, the Prešeren Awards will be. Two Prizes for life achievement will be awarded as well as Prizes of the Prešeren Fund. Janez Bogataj chairman of the Prešeren Fund Management Board will address the guests of the ceremony. The Symphonic orchestra of RTV Slovenia and the Slovene Percussion Project SToP are responsible for the musical programme.
