The petition to prevent the sell-off has been signed by more than 11,800 people. In the meantime, a newly released petition in favor of privatization has been signed by more than 5,200 people.

The largest coalition party, SMC, has said that the privatization process must continue in order to maintain the credibility of the country. However, questions remain.

The opposition party, the United Left, is at the forefront of the opposition to the privatization process. They have called for protests and perhaps even a referendum on the issue.
