Next week there will be a general debate in parliament on the proposal. The proposed changes will now be discussed by members of the Economic and Social Council. Apart from supervising trade, certified cash registers will also help curb the country's grey economy.

The biggest remarks refer to the high penalties, especially for those who fail to take a receipt when buying products. The proposed law doesn't only intend to supervise trade, but also aims to reveal practices of undeclared work and failures in paying social contributions. The financial administration is to save all the information and analytically examine it. Around two million euros will be spent on upgrading the information system. However, many experts say the figure is too optimistic.
