Koper - MMC RTV SLO

Poor performance in the second half was fateful for Slovenian handball players at the first qualifying match for the World Cup, which was won by Hungarians with a five-point lead (24-29).

More than 3,000 handball fans came to encourage the Slovenian team coached by Veselin Vujović in Koper, but they left empty-handed, since in its first qualifying match, Slovenia did not show good performance in the World Cup. The Hungarians won with a five-goal advantage, especially due to excellent play in the second half.

The Slovenian 'camp' are aware of the importance of qualifying matches and are determined to preserve the continuity of appearances at the World Championships. At last year's championship in France, the team shone in full glory and won the bronze medal, and before that they participated seven times at the world championships.

The 2019 world championship will take place in Germany and Denmark.
