It is expected that due to milk surplus and lower inquiries in the market the prices will continue going down.

Milk producers have therefore warned that if this trend continues, the production will no longer pay off. In January 2014, they got 40 cents per liter, but at the end of 2014, one liter of milk was worth only 32 cents. For a farm having 40 milker cows this means EUR 2,800 less per month.

However, the embargo will not have a significant impact on Slovenian milk producers, as the country has not produced more milk than allowed.
