The migration flow may be diverted in future, and therefore no part of the border should be exempt from such measures, he said at the press conference following the government session. The main purpose of technical obstacles is regulation of the migration flow, and their aim is to control crossing of the state border. "Considering bad experiences, our policy is fully justified," he said. He emphasized that these obstacles are only temporary, and will be removed as soon as it is estimated that other measures would be sufficient.

He stressed the fact that during last weeks it was predicted that the migration flows might change direction, and "south variants" of the migration route had been mentioned. It means that the migration flow might enter our country at the other parts of the border, which according to Šefic means the necessary measures must be taken for the whole length of the state border.

He said that by Tuesday 137 kilometres of the fence were erected at 36 different locations – from Gibina in Razkrižje to Dragonja near Koper. He claims that the Slovenian border remains open, but supervised. He is convinced that these measures will help assure suitable stability and safety in our country.
