Especially because they have disappeared from many parts of western Europe. The last wild stork seen in Belgium was back in 1895. Storks also disappeared from Sweden and Switzerland about 60 years ago. In the right season, they can still be seen in parts of Slovenia… and hopefully they still will be in the future.
