"In comparison to Germany, Slovenia is far less developed in their relationship with foreigners", says Vanja Malbaša, an electrical engineer from Novi Sad. Vanja moved to Slovenia in 2009 as a temporary escape from Serbia’s financial and moral crisis. But her company prolonged her contract each year and she ended up staying in Slovenia for four years. Due to the economic crisis Vanja experienced a poor working environment and was trapped in administrative complications. In October 2012, she decided to leave Slovenia and seek new opportunities in Germany.
In hopes of preventing this from occurring in the new year, Slovenia will change its law on foreigners. A new system will be introduced called Vse na enem mestu, or All in One Place. Foreigners will submit their employment through one application, in which they can decide the right of residence and the right of work. They will receive one license with a rescue time deposit of 30 days.
