Following winner announcements, the eponymous festival also opened the exhibition of the best works at the Cankarjev dom cultural centre. Matic Zorman captured an elegiac image of Fatima Asfour, who is standing in the midst of rubble in her Gazan home at Khan Younis. There are two photos in her hands, of 26-year-old Ramez and 25-year-old Ahmed, her two sons who allegedly died on a ship that sunk close to the coast of Malta.

Ciril Jazbec followed the stories of orphans. His photo story, called The Children's Home in Greenland, was accompanied by a projection of a Greenlandic film Inuk onto an iceberg of Uummannaq. The film deals with the inclusion of children in the traditional way of life within the local community.

The international jury of the Slovenia Press Photo 2015 festival, which opened on Tuesday, consists of the following members this year: Jerome Delay (AP), Jerome Huffer (Paris Match), Louisa Gouliamaki (AFP), Maral Deghati (Warm, Me-Mo), Gali Tibbon (Canon) and Mathilde Boussion(6Mois).
