Teja Gregorin started the pursuit race from the 15 place. She won this historic Olympic medal for the Slovenian biathlon with fantastic (final) shooting, and even better skiing during the final kilometres of the 10-kilometer race.
Also Vesna Fabjan raced exceptionally in the free-style sprint today; in the semi-finals she fought until the last atom of power was exhausted, and made the big finals. She saved the best for the very end, as in the beginning of the finish sprint she even fought for the title of the Olympic champion, but in the end the colour of the medal had to be determined by a photo finish.
Below you can find short interviews with both Slovenian medal winners:

Vesna Fabjan, congratulations. I can't find the right words – can you describe your enthusiasm?
No, not yet. I am speechless. Twenty years of training, of sacrifices, and of hard work were repaid today! Every athlete dreams of a medal, and today I won it! You can’t beat this feeling!
You were incredibly focused. After the classifications you said: »We'll see.« And we did see – Vesna Fabjan in the best possible version. What was your day on the track like?
I must admit I was a bit dissatisfied in the quarterfinals, as I was not sure of the state of my skis. Luckily my ski servicemen just before the finals replaced the skies I had used, and in the finals the skies glided even better. I would like to thank sincerely to everybody who stood by me, to my family, my trainers, my servicemen. Today my nephew is celebrating his second birthday – I dedicate this medal to him!
The semi-finals ended with a photo finish – we thought you had already spent most of your energy, but later in the finals we saw there was more than enough energy left. Where did it come from?
I knew the race was »do or die«. Already in the semi-finals centimetres separated us, and in the end the third and the fourth skier from our group qualified for the finals as well. I wanted to leave nothing to chance, so I raced until the last centimetre. I knew it would end in a photo finish. It was worth it, and when you see during the final race that a medal is within your reach and you think of years and years of training, you don't give up so easily. Really, this medal was my goal.

Teja Gregorin, at first we will let you tell to the Slovenians, who were all watching this biathlon race, whatever you would like to share!
I would like to thank everybody who contributed to my medal. I know there are a lot of people who gave their share. Thank you all, from sponsors to trainers – thanks to everybody.
You only missed one shot at the third shooting. Did you get scared it would ruin your race?
Well, it didn't frighten me, but I said to myself: »Darn! Again I'll be a little too short, even if I shoot a zero in the final shooting.« I didn't give up, but I knew it would be very difficult. In the end it turned out well, as I had imagined I don't know how long ago.
Was the fourth shooting the most difficult?
I wouldn't say the fourth shooting was the most difficult; the most difficult were the last 2 kilometres, as I was not sure of my strength and of the strength of the other competitors. I left the shooting range as fifth, and I knew I had to overtake two more excellent skiers, I believe Soukalova and Dunklee. But when I got wind of the medal, I really did everything in my power to get it.
