The final event of the Slovenian Puppet Biennale was once again under the sign of the Maribor Puppet Theatre. Časoskop by Matija Solce was declared the best puppet show of the last two seasons; Solce also received the award for the best director.

Časoskop was produced by the Maribor Puppet Theatre and International Center for Puppetry Arts MCLU Koper, in cooperation with the Maribor Regional Museum. Through scenes from lives of ordinary people the show creates a kaleidoscope of colourful stories about the city.

"Časoskop is a show which takes your breath away. It takes you through the history of Maribor with the speed and power of an express train. The scenes change rapidly, enriched by a number of ideas. The infernal pace during less than one hour takes a spectator 850 years back in history," writes in the explanation. "This seemingly spontaneous impetuosity is ruled by intelligence, reason, precision, discipline; the perfectly coordinated performance of the three performers, humour and eclectic visual image. The chronology of Maribor is presented in such a way that it might be understood as chronology of any town, even an imaginary one. Časoskop is a complex performance which offers so much that you want to see it again and again."
