Defense Minister Roman Jakič was happy to announce the news. He said that although their return from Afghanistan was first planned for June, Slovenia's soldiers have already arrived home.
Slovenia's army was present in Afghanistan as part of the NATO ISAF mission for 10 years. In that time more than a thousand Slovenian soldiers served in Afghanistan. They were also involved in a number of incidents, the latest involving one soldier, who was shot in the leg in January.
