In the proposal of the supplementary budget for this year EUR 65 m are earmarked for agriculture, forestry, and nutrition, in total 762 million. But as explained by the Minister in charge Dejan Židan, realistically the government is not interfering with the budget for agriculture with the supplementary budget proposal.

Some changes have been achieved during the year through accelerated withdrawal of European funds. Thus more funds for this year in the proposed supplementary budget mainly reflect the successful implementation of the agricultural cohesion.

Additional funds to Police, but still more are needed
The proposed supplementary budget has earmarked somewhat more funds to Police, compared to the presently valid budget. In order to prevent a step backwards in the state of equipment, according to state secretary Boštjan Šefic we would need at least six to seven per cent more from the amount earmarked in this year's supplement budget.

At the parliamentary committee for domestic policy, public administration, and local self-government Boštjan Mrak from the Ministry of Finance explained that the supplementary budget has increased the integral funds for the Interior Ministry by EUR 8.1 m, and the EU funds by EUR 1.6 m. The integral funds for the administrative units have been increased by EUR 4.3 m, mostly because of implementation of the law on compensation for the erased.

10 million euros less for healthcare
The supplementary budget is reducing the funds for the Ministry of Health by EUR 10.3 m. The Minister of Health Milojka Kolar Celarc explained withdrawal of this sum from this year's budget should not jeopardize building of any of the emergency centres. She said that this amount, almost seven million euros, is the part the state has to assure for the projects financed by the European cohesion fund.

They were able to withdraw this money from this year's budget, as the beginning of construction of some of the emergency centres has been postponed to next year. The money which is now being withdrawn from the budget of the Ministry is assured for the next year, claims the Minister. The network of emergency centres should be completed by the end of the next year, she said.
