On the one hand, the communication tool provides free accommodations in sheltered housing or retirement homes; on the other hand, it enables the exchange of accommodations, including of those in interesting tourist areas.

“Demographic data indicate an increase in the educated elderly population, so a growing demand for services for the elderly can also be expected. The market should become innovative and motivated, it should provide new solutions. Entrepreneurship can change the society for the better!” says Tomaž Lorenzetti, the LinkedAge network administrator.

The online platform has come to life also in practice. Brigita from the retirement home in Radenci, and Mihaela from Jesenice have exchanged their homes for a few days. Their responses were positive.

“I‘ve surprised my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I was asked if I’d like to take part in an exchange, and I said ‘Why not!’ It was really a pleasant experience. A comprehensive programme was arranged at and outside of the home. In the evening, as early as at 8.30 pm I pulled the blanket up and went to sleep,” said Brigita, a participant in the first exchange.
