The Berić's masterpiece, his turning around with a defender on his back, and kicking a refined diagonal lob kick into the far upper corner of the opponents' goal, has of course became a candidate for the best goal of the 7th round of the French championship.

"It is not the goal that matters, but the three points"
The efficient show presented by Berić, 25-year-old footballer from Krško, who also participated as the second passer at doubling St. Etienne's leadership and thus to the victory against Lille with 3:1, was acknowledged also by the famous L'Equipe: he made it into the Team of the Round.

"It is not the goal that matters, but the three points we took," Berić spoke calmly and to the point after the match. He proved that the grievous injury he suffered last year didn’t crush him, nor deprived him of his instinct for goal scoring. At the 11th match of the season he scored his already fifth goal for St. Etienne, and his outstanding Sunday show was acknowledged also by standing ovation of the 29 thousand fans gathered in the Geoffroy-Guichard cauldron when he was withdrawn in the 76th minute.

Not a star, just a rational attacker
The impression Berić's extreme efficiency and rationality in the game are making on the Ligue 1 followers is growing. Thus in the 7th round Berić successfully received and forwarded all the 11 passes with only 18 touches – and in 69th minute he might have scored had he not been caught in an offside trap.

On the other hand, Berić is known in football-obsessed St. Etienne as the non-star player prototype, because of his modesty and restraint (20 minutes). He is considered an extremely useful striker who does not need and doesn’t waste a large number of balls, and is capable of stinging like a green cobra, as he had been dubbed at Vienna Rapid.

Back to the crime scene on Sunday
St. Etienne will host its opponent for the Europe League Anderlecht on Thursday, but after climbing to the 7th place in the Ligue 1, everything is revolving around the Sunday derby, when the green will appear as the guest team in Lyon. The match at Gerland will be a special one for Berić, as last November he was grievously injured on Lyon's stadium by Jordan Ferri, which interrupted his first season in France after scoring five goals in 13 matches for ASSE.

Kampl the second worse on Wednesday, the second best on Saturday
Before another gathering of the national team – the rooster made by the selector Srečko Katanec will be made known on Thursday afternoon in Brdo – the Slovenia key player Kevin Kampl had a busy week as well. During the week he was among the worst graded players of the match against Augsburg which ended in a tie (0:0) – he supposedly strayed all over the pitch and took possession of the ball also on lateral defender positions. It was a different story on Saturday, when he was the key player in the dramatic turn of events in Mainz (3:2), along with the scorer of three goals Chicharito; Kampl was praised for taking possession of the ball and for his decisive approach in duels – in fact, he prevailed seven out of 11 times.

Another, already the third pass by Trajkovski
Dejan Trajkovski is still doing his best to get the candidacy for the first Slovenian team, at the least staffed position, left defender. At the seventh league team he played for Twente he gave his already third pass for a goal, this time to the leading Enes Unal against Vitesse; they won the match with 2:1. The newcomer from Domžale very quickly asserted himself, and secured his position among the first eleven of Twente, the team which climbed to the 6th place of the Eredivisie after the 7th round.

After successful pass Matavž scored for the second time
The (former?) member of the Slovenian national team Tim Matavž is successfully reviving his career as a sharpshooter; his wish for constant playing brought him into the second German league. He secured his place in the first team of Nürnberg with Mišo Brečko as the captain, and on Sunday he played the key role for their win at their guest appearance at Arminia Bielefeld, the derby of the rear of the Bundesliga 2. In the 81th minute he passed to Burgstaller for 2:1, and four minutes later the 27-year old football player from Šempeter scored for the final result of 3:1, thus bringing to Nurnberg the first victory of the season, in the 7th round.
