On Friday, Idrija opened its 37th Lace Festival, the biggest event in the city, dedicated to Idrija lace. The three-day festival will bring together 12 exhibitions related to the lace, and more than 30 events in total. A trade fair of home and art crafts will take place at the central venue on the City Square as well as on St. Agathius Square, the programme also boasts numerous accompanying events. The highlight will be the Sunday competition of children and adults in lace making for the Ivanka Ferjančič award. The central theme of this year's festival, which will close on 17 June, is the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana and the Idrija Lace- Makers’ Society, which also celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.

The Tobačna mesto venue in Ljubljana, on the grounds of the former tobacco factory, will host a two-day #FUKSi 2018 event, the central part of the Urban Culture Festival, which features a variety of daytime and evening events. On Friday evening, DJ Umek, Ten Walls, Mike Vale and Urban Pheiher took the stage. On Saturday, the festival will take host Morcheeba, the Matter trio from Kamnik, music editor at Val 202 Žiga Klančar as DJ Žiga K and Sladica.

As stated on its website, #FUKS is not only music, it will also offer a wide range of creative, gourmet, sports, environmental and socially aware content. Part of the free all-day events will be, among other things, workshops, exchanges of new and old things as well as a green urban corner, lists the organizer, the Collegium Mondial Travel agency. Various providers will take care of the hungry, and visitors will also be able to participate in hip hop and breakdance workshops and dance events.
