The government says some public institutions have received more funding than they actually need. Officials are proposing that institutions return excess funds at the request of the government or municipality.
Public institutions are against the idea. They say that in most cases, the funds have been allocated for future investments, development, expertise, infrastructure or better care for patients.
After the debate in the parliment it seemed the majority of deputies do not support the govermental proposal. The parliment thus decided not to take the excess funds from the public institutions.
