Today marks the World Day of Palliative Care and Hospice and it runs under the banner "We care for you." Experts have presented a national project called Butterfly or Metulj a few days ago to help patients with incurable diseases, their families and professionals better prepare for what comes next.
Project Butterfly is the result of cooperation of the Slovenian Association of palliative medicine SZD, Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and the National Coordination of palliative care.

The main objective of the project is a more appropriate implementation of palliative care and an increase of quality of treatments patients receive.
More than 40 medical experts have prepared 20 different leaflets covering areas such as physical symptoms, psychological issues, care, social issues and the last days of life. The public can also get more information on the issue on the web page paliativnaoskrba.si.
