Bonfires will be lit around the country tonight to mark Labor Day.

The largest crowds are expected at Ljubljana's Rožnik hill, where a bonfire will be lit at 10 p.m.

The celebrations will continue on Labour Day with organised hikes and other events.

Labour Day commemorates demonstrations in Chicago in 1886 in which workers demanded an eight-hour working day.
