Štefka Drolc has passed away at the age of 95. She was one of the biggest Slovenian theatre actresses, who also excelled in film, television and radio acting roles. She was also known as an excellent poetry interpreter.

She started her acting career as an amateur in Maribor. She later also worked at the SNG Drama Maribor theatre house, at Triglav Film, at the Slovenian theatre in Trieste and at the SNG Drama Ljubljana theatre house. Later she started teaching as an employee at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. She will always be remembered for him film roles. Her first acting role in film was playing the character of Tildica in "Na svoji zemlji" (On Our Own Land). She then also played in "Naš avto" (Our Car), "Cvetje v jeseni" (Blossoms in Autumn), "Povest o dobrih ljudeh" (The Story of Good People) and other Slovenian films. Drolc also received numerous awards. In 2009 she was awarded the Prešeren Prize for lifetime achievement.

Štefka Drolc was active until a very old age and will always be remembered as a legend of Slovenian film and theatre. In an interview marking her 90th birthday, she said: "We are a people rich with actors, poets and writers, and I don’t understand why we have to keep quarrelling amongst each other. We would really, really, have to live more sensibly."
