Slovenian cyclist Matej Mohorič held off a late attack by his rivals to win the 7-day BinckBank tour in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Mohorič had led by 30 seconds overnight from his nearest rival, Australia's Michael Matthews.

Today's 209 km stage from l'Eau d'Heure to Geraardsbergen was won by Matthews but it wasn't enough to overhaul the Slovenian.

Another Slovenian, Jan Polanc, was 10th in today's stage and finished 15th overall.

Mohorič becomes the 4th Sloevnian to win a World Cycling Series race, after Primož Roglič, Simon Špilak and Grega Bole.
