The second Half Ironman event in Slovenia dubbed Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria will take place today. The event is hosted by Slovenia’s coastal towns of Izola, Koper, Ankaran and Piran and includes a 1.9-kilometer swim, 90 kilometers of cycling and a 21-kilometer run. All 1,700 slots have already been filled with competitors from 53 countries, the number being higher by 300 compared to last year. The race starts at 9 o'clock in the morning while the last competitors are expected to reach the finish line around 6 o'clock in the evening. The first winner of the Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria was Michal Rajca, an athlete from Poland, who finished the race in 4 hours, 18 minutes and 52 seconds.
