The Constitutional Court has officially allowed the new RTV Slovenija Act to take effect. The government passed the new RTV Slovenija act last year in order to depoliticize the public broadcaster. According to the act, the existing program council and supervisory board will be replaced with a single council of 17 members, giving more power to civil society and RTV staff.
The decision published by the Constitutional Court says the new council should be constituted no more than seven days after the court's decision is published in the Official Gazette.
