"Firefighter" has been declared word of the year for 2022. The word of the year was announced today by the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The word "Firefighter", or "Gasilec" in Slovenian, won most of the votes, reflecting the role of firefighters in the Karst wildfires last summer. The word "Freedom" came in second.
The previous word of the year was PCT, an abbreviation for the recovered-vaccinated-tested rule.
