Italy's Foreign Minister is paying an official visit to Slovenia today. Minister Antonio Tajani is the first member of Italy's new government to visit Slovenia.
He was welcomed by Slovenia's FM Tanja Fajon. The two said that Slovenia and Italy would continue to cooperate in preventing illegal migration. The two countries already have joint police patrols on the border between the two countries.
Talks also focused on the Western Balkans, minority issues, and economic cooperation. Trade trade between the two countries is on the rise and exceeding 12 billion euros last year.
